Tornata dalla Cina dove mi sono recata per lavorare ad un progetto per la Biennale di Firenze, che vuole dedicare uno sguardo alla Cina all’interno della prossima edizione.
Just back from China were I was working for the Florence Biennale, we want to dedicate a look to China in the next edition.

La Cina è una terra affascinante, lontana dalla mia cultura, è un posto da osservare senza usare i soliti parametri di giudizio che usiamo in Occidente ma al di là delle differenze enormi nel comportamento, nelle abitudini sono rimasta veramente colpita dai loro artisti, sembra quasi che dopo aver visto i lavori dei molti artisti conosciuti la, l'arte occidentale sia davvero diventata un po' sterile e le sue vie di comunicazione troppo intoccabili.

China is fascinating, very far from our culture, is a place to observe without judging based on our western parameters, beyond the several differences in behavior and habits I was extremely touched by their artists, it seems to me that after seeing the artwork of the many artists I met there, western art has become a bit sterile and it's communication ways are untouchable.

Ho incontrato Shu Yong, con i suoi dipinti dedicati ai miti cinesi, eseguiti con estrema eccellenza, le bolle di sapone che si presentano in ogni suo lavoro, in ogni forma, qualche altro lavoro meno evocativo ma più ironico e diretto lo definiscono un'artista molto eclettico; ho visitato il suo studio nella zona Green Grass, una delle tante aree della città dedicate all'arte contemporanea. Ho anche incontrato Huang Yan, forse più conosciuto in Italia per la sua partecipazione alla biennale di Venezia, con i dipinti tradizionali cinesi sul corpo dei più svariati modelli, anche lui ha una lunga ricerca nei più svariati campi, dalla pittura, alla body art, dalla scultura alla fotografia.

I met Shu Yong, with his paintings dedicated to the Chinese myths, executed with excellence, the soap bubbles present in each work, in each shape. He is a very eclectic artist, sometimes he is evocative and sometimes more ironic and direct, I had the chance to visit his studio in the Green Grass area, one of the many areas dedicated to contemporary art in Beijing. I also met Huang Yan, maybe much more known in Italy for his participation in the Venice Biennale with his traditional Chinese paintings on top of the body of various models, he is also an extremely eclectic artist, his research goes from painting, to body art, from sculpture to photography.

Le opere che più mi hanno colpito facendomi davvero sentire la mia umanità nel suo livello più vulnerabile sono le opere dell'artista Zhang Lin Hai, presenti in una retrospettiva al Today Art Museum, la sua ironia nei titoli e la cruda realtà dei suoi dipinti rendono lo spettatore portatore di una riflessione importante, affogandolo nell'accettazione di una realtà evidente a tutti ma accuratamente evitata.

The artist I liked the most is Zhang in Hai, with his artwork that made me feel my humanity in it's highest vulnerability level. There was a retrospective in the Today's Art Museum, where you could see his ironic titles and the harsh reality that invites the viewer to a very deep reflection of what is evident and we avoid to accept.

Nell'area 798, ex fabbrica oggi riadattata per dar posto a gallerie, centri d'arte contemporanea, Musei e atelier di vari artisti, ho scoperto anche artisti giovani che oltre alla tecnica eccellente dimostrano una forza creativa davvero disarmante, la loro estetica, la scelta degli elementi, i loro colori mi hanno trasportata in una sorta di mondo a me prima sconosciuto.

In the 798 area, ex factory that has been adapted to host galleries, museums, contemporary art centers and artists' studios, I discovered young emerging artists that other than excellent technique, they transmitted a very powerful creative force, I was transported into a world unknown for me before.

C'è davvero tanto da imparare dagli artisti cinesi, l'arte si è riconfermata unica lingua universale, se non ci fossi l'arte non avrei avuto quasi nessun contatto con le persone che ho incontrato, oltre alla barriera della lingua, c'è davvero bisogno di tempo e osservazione per riuscire a capire come leggere la loro essenza e sono sicura che anche per loro è così.

There is so much to learn from Chinese artists, art has reconfirmed itself the unique universal language, without it I would have had almost no contact with the people I met there, other than the language a barrier, there is a need of time and observation to understand how to read Chinese people's essence and I'm sure they feel the same with us.
